Passes, permits and fees
The Canada Strong Pass is back! Parks Canada is offering free admission and a 25% discount on fees for camping and overnight stays from June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive. During the Canada Strong Pass period, no fees apply for lockage at the seven canals administered by Parks Canada on historic waterways.Free admission for summer 2026

Available to buy in-person in 2026
You can buy passes and permits in person outside of the Canada Strong Pass period, where available.
For those visiting outside of the free admission dates, Parks Canada’s team members will help you find the best value for admission once you arrive.
If you already hold a Discovery Pass or annual single-location pass valid during any Canada Strong Pass period, the pass will be automatically extended.
Access to multiple locations: Discovery Pass
Save time at the gate. An annual Parks Canada Discovery Pass covers admission to more than 80 destinations for 12 months.
In 2026, Discovery Passes are available for purchase online and in-person, outside of the Canada Strong Pass periods only, where available.
Single-location passes
Annual or seasonal admission to one location only. Available at over 50 national parks and historic sites.
In 2026, you can buy single-location passes in person, where available, outside of the Canada Strong Pass periods.
You will be able to buy single-location passes online starting in Fall 2026.
Lockage and mooring permits
For certain canals and historic waterways administered by Parks Canada. Lockage (outside of the Canada Strong Pass periods), mooring and other boating permits are available on-site.
In 2026, seasonal mooring permits will be available for purchase online (spring 2026).
Lockage permits will not be sold online for the 2026 season.
Fees for mooring, boat launching, and other activities and services will still apply.
Free admission for youth 17 and under
Admission to Parks Canada places for youth 17 and under is free. Other service and experience fees may apply.
Free admission for newcomers to Canada and new Canadian citizens
Enjoy free admission for one full year, to all Parks Canada administered places across the country!
Free entry for support persons
Parks Canada offers free admission and access to programs for support persons travelling with a visitor who has a disability.
Free daily admission for active members and Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and their immediate families

Daily admission and service fees
Fees are charged at most national parks and historic sites. Revenues support visitor programs, services, facilities and conservation efforts. Thank you for helping maintain and protect the places you love!
