Upcoming transition to Outlook Mobile App - myKEY update required

Hello,

Over the next week, Shared Services Canada (SSC) will update myKEY for all Parks Canada team members to improve compatibility with other IT systems.

What you need to know:

  • What: myKEY is a secure digital key needed to access various Government of Canada services like VPN, MyGCPay, Public Service Performance Management (PSPM), and secure electronic signatures.
  • When: The update will happen between March 24 and 31, or the next time you log in after that. Parks Canada Executives (PCX) will receive the update specifically on March 27 and 28
  • How: When the update is applied to your computer:
    • If you're already logged into myKEY: You'll see a notification confirming the update. There is nothing else needed on your part.
    • If you're not logged into myKEY: You will be prompted to confirm the update and sign in.
    • Team members who are away during the change will be prompted to update their myKEY the next time they log in.
    • If you use your Parks Canada mobile device for encrypted emails, you will need to take some extra steps to transfer your updated myKEY certificates to your mobile device. Follow the instructions here under “Install your myKEY certificate on your mobile device”.
  • Why: This update ensures compliance with Government of Canada standards and supports the transition to the Outlook mobile application for mobile users.

If you encounter any issues during the update, instructions are provided here.

Introducing the Outlook mobile application

The Outlook mobile app is now available for all Parks Canada smartphone users. We highly recommend switching to this app from the default Apple and Samsung email apps. It offers a user-friendly experience, similar to Outlook on your desktop, and includes additional features like managing multiple mailboxes.

  • Learn more about the Outlook mobile app and how to get started on this ParksNet page.

Support: The Parks IT Service Desk is available to help with any issues during the myKEY update or with the Outlook mobile app.

Thank you,

Richard Barrette
