Performance Management: 2024-2025 End-of-Cycle Assessment
Hello to all members of our Parks Canada team,
The end of the fiscal year is fast approaching and coincides with the completion of the End-of-Cycle Performance Review. More than just an administrative formality, these evaluations give us the opportunity to assess our progress, identify areas for improvement and set concrete objectives that will guide our work throughout the next year.
To contribute to the success of the End-of-Cycle Performance Review process, we propose a series of actions to be completed by April 30, 2025:
For team members:
- Review your performance agreement, focusing on your achievements, the challenges encountered and the desired improvements. Don't want to forget anything? Refer to the Employee Self-Assessment Guide, a complete 4-step tool!
- Share your results openly and actively with your manager and discuss your development needs.
- Once your manager has completed your evaluation, add your comments and sign off your performance assessment in the Public Service Performance Management application (PSPM).
For managers:
- Review the employee's performance agreement and make any necessary adjustments.
- Prepare for your discussions by consulting the Guide to End-of-Cycle Performance assessment.
- Hold individual end-of-cycle discussions with your team members. Use clear, concrete examples to illustrate performance and encourage feedback.
- Motivate your team, recognize their efforts, and prepare improvement or talent management plans as needed.
Complete and sign the performance evaluations in the Public Service Performance Management application (PSPM).
If you don't have access to the PSPM application for technical reasons, please note that you can use the paper form.
Seasonal staff
The performance cycle and deadlines may vary for seasonal employees. Based on seasonality, end-of-cycle evaluations must be completed before the end of the employment period. Visit the ParksNet page for seasonal employees for more information.
Resources
The Performance Management ParksNet pages provides you with a wealth of resources and tools to help you through each step of the process. I also invite you to participate in learning sessions which will be offered as part of the Performance and Talent Management Learning Series page.
Still have unanswered questions or a specific situation you would like to discuss? Contact the Performance and Talent Management team. They are here to help and will be happy to support you every step of the way.
