2024 Public Service Employee Survey Results

Dear colleagues,

The results of the Public Service Employee Survey (PSES) 2024 are now available and I invite you to consult them. On behalf of the senior management team, I would like to thank Parks Canada team members for participating in the survey.

The PSES is an important source of information that provides feedback to help the Agency identify areas of strength and opportunities to improve people management practices. I am pleased to see that our results remain consistent year after year in key areas such as employee engagement and satisfaction, respect for diversity and inclusion, and the establishment of a healthy and safe workplace. We continue to ensure that team members have the tools, training, and equipment they need to complete their work effectively.

The results highlight areas where we should do better. I see an opportunity to improve communications and the flow of information. We also note the presence of harassment and discrimination in the workplace, where we see rising numbers of cases coming from the public. I want to assure you that we are taking the necessary steps to address these gaps. Together, we will continue our efforts to be the best workplace we can be, where every team member feels valued, safe, and supported.

We have accomplished a great deal in recent years. Training in harassment and violence prevention, the renewal of our values and operating principles, and workshops on “living our values” have raised awareness at all levels. Our health and safety program demonstrates our commitment to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by preventing accidents, physical or psychological injuries, and illnesses through the elimination or reduction of occupational hazards. Our employee networks, supported by co-champions, help foster a positive culture.

We encourage you to start conversations within your respective teams to share your ideas, ask questions, and build concrete solutions.

Thank you again for your engagement.

Ron Hallman

President & CEO

Reminder to managers: In keeping with Parks Canada's procedures for communications with employees, managers are responsible for ensuring all team members under their responsibility receive the information intended for them. It is important that you find a means to transmit this message and, if any, the attachment(s) to employees without access to Parks Canada e-mail or the intranet, e.g. by posting it, circulating a paper copy or by any other appropriate means.
