Announcement – Appointment of Rawan El-Komos – Vice-President, Human Resources and Employee Wellness

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rawan El-Komos to the position of Vice-President of Human Resources and Employee Wellness (HREW), effective September 26, 2024.

Rawan has been a public servant for almost 23 years. She began her career at the Department of National Defence (DND) in Halifax, which is where her family landed after immigrating from Egypt. She then progressively took on more senior roles in human resources at DND, Transport Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

Since September 2022, Rawan has been the Director General, Workforce Management at ESDC. She has a strong passion for leadership and is known as an authentic and transformational leader with a commitment to people management and building high performing teams.

Rawan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Marketing) from St Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has also successfully completed a Master’s Certificate in Public Sector Leadership from Carleton University.
