Introducing the Jewish Employee Network at Parks Canada!

Dear colleagues,

As interim employee co-chairs, we are excited to announce the establishment of a Jewish Employee Network at Parks Canada!

We believe that fostering diversity and inclusion starts with an earnest commitment to learning, listening and supporting actions that make differences in the lives and workplace realities of Jewish Parks Canada team members. How we best do this will be in large part guided and supported by those of you who are active with us through the Jewish Employee Network.

Who can join?

Jewish employees and students working at Parks Canada.

How can I join?

If you are interested in joining this network, please contact us at: Jen-rej@pc.gc.ca.

When is the first network meeting and what can I expect?

Our first meeting will be held virtually on April 18, 2024, at 2:00 pm EST. An agenda will be finalized before the meeting, but here’s a snapshot of what you can expect:

  • Introductions of interim co-chairs;
  • The scope of what is possible for this Network;
  • The creation a “safe space” for our Network meetings and collaborations;
  • Discussions surrounding the creation of our ParksNet page and collaborative space;
  • Working together on priorities for the Network (you can start sending us your ideas anytime!);
  • Establishing the Terms of Reference, including vision, mission and mandate, role of network, budget, membership, co-champion roles, co-chair roles, meeting frequency and decisions.

We are thrilled to begin working together to create a network where Jewish employees can find community and support. We look forward to hearing from you!

Reminder to managers: In keeping with Parks Canada's procedures for communications with employees, managers are responsible for ensuring all employees under their responsibility receive the information intended for them. It is important that you find a means to transmit this message and, if any, the attachment(s) to employees without access to Parks Canada e-mail or the intranet, e.g., by posting it, circulating a paper copy or by any other appropriate means.
