2023 tax slip access and additional tax information
Hello,
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) will soon begin issuing 2023 tax slips based on a Department access schedule. Due to high traffic anticipated on platforms, Parks Canada employees are asked to retrieve their electronic slips in Phoenix self-service and MyGCPay starting only on February 26, 2023.
Please note that the “province of employment” reported in box 10 on the T4 is the employee’s work location stated in their letter of offer. Employees whose province of employment is recorded as being located in Québec will receive a Relevé 1 in addition to their T4 slip.
Home office expenses: The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has indicated that the temporary flat rate method which was applicable during the 2020 to 2022 taxation years for Canadians to claim home office expenses will not apply to the 2023 taxation year. Eligible employees who worked from home in 2023 will be required to use the detailed method to claim home office expenses, and to submit all required documents and receipts when they file their taxes, along with a completed T2200 form, signed by their manager. Given that taxation is a personal matter, managers should not provide tax advice. Additional information on home office expenses is available to employees on the CRA website.
