Revitalization of Parks Canada’s values and operating principles

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Parks Canada’s revitalized values and operating principles are now available on our website. Together with our Values and ethics code, these values and principles are the foundation for how we work together as a team and provide services to the public.

I am grateful to all Parks Canada team members who participated in the extensive engagement to develop these revitalized values and principles, ensuring they reflect Parks Canada’s unique identity and culture, and are grounded in equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation with Indigenous people.

The revitalized values and operating principles will now be implemented in Parks Canada human resources policies, practices, and procedures. To support us all in consistently applying the core values expressed in both guiding documents, a mandatory workshop called “Living our values” will be provided to all team members in the spring.

I invite each of you to take the time to read the revitalized values and operating principles and reflect on how they can guide us all in our day-to-day work.
