Announcement – Appointments within the Operations Directorate

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the following appointments within the Operations Directorate, effective June 28, 2024.

Michèle Leblond, Field Unit Superintendent, Quebec

Michèle joined Parks Canada in 2010 as a Promotions Officer within the Quebec Field Unit. She was appointed External Relations Manager in 2014 and she played a key role in the program for the 150th anniversary of Confederation. In 2018, Michèle went to Global Affairs Canada to implement the International Media Centre's showcase for the G7 Summit. Since June 2023, Michèle has been acting Field Unit Superintendent, Quebec.

Michèle holds a Bachelor of Public Communication from Université Laval.

Appointment of Mathieu Côté, Field Unit Superintendent, Gaspésie

Mathieu began his public service career at Parks Canada in 2010 as Resource Conservation Manager for Forillon National Park in the Gaspésie Field Unit. Prior to that, he occupied various roles within the Gaspésie-Les-Îles Forestry Consortium. Since October 2023, Mathieu has been acting Field Unit Superintendent, Gaspésie.

Mathieu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Forest Management and Environments from Université Laval, as well as a Master’s degree in Wildlife and Habitat Management and a Doctorate in Environmental Science from Université du Québec à Rimouski.
