International Day of Persons with Disabilities

December 3 marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD).  This year’s Government of Canada IDPD theme, “Beyond the stigma: Building an inclusive Canada”, focuses attention on the environments that we’re striving for, ones where no one faces barriers or discrimination based on their abilities.

In the spirit of this day, let us work together to make Parks Canada a place where people with disabilities feel valued, supported, and empowered. As co-champions for employees with disabilities network, we invite you to:

  • Participate in the IDPD 2023 virtual event hosted by Shared Services Canada today, December 1, 2023, from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm (ET). Hear directly from members of the community about their lived experiences and learn what actions you can take to create a safe, diverse, and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Take action by using the Top 10 Accessibility Tips from the Chairs of Parks Canada’s Employees with Disabilities Network.

The Network of Employees with Disabilities is always welcoming new members and offers an opportunity for employees to connect and advocate for change. For more information, please send an email to cph-pwdc@pc.gc.ca

Wishing you all a meaningful Day.
