Launch of MyGCPay external access

Good day,

I wish to inform you that employees who don’t have access to the Government of Canada Network can now consult MyGCPay application by external access. This includes the following situations:

  • Employees on leave without pay, including maternity leave, parental leave, and long-term sick leave.
  • Employees leaving the Public Service, including new retirees and students.
  • Active employees who do not have access to the Government of Canada network due to the nature of their work.

If you do not have access to the Government of Canada Network and wish to consult the MyGCPay application by external access, I invite you to register on canada.ca/mygcpayexternal.

However, please be advised that:

  • Access to the MyGCPay application may be limited for some users as Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is still working to improve access to better serve active and former employees of the public service.
  • Pay stubs and tax slips for employees who do not have access to the Government of Canada Network will be printed and mailed for a period of at least 6 months.
  • Your personal information must be up to date in the Phoenix Pay System in order to receive by mail a paper format of your pay stubs and tax slips. However, if you don’t have access to the Phoenix Pay System, you must contact the Client Contact Centre in order to update your information.

Note to managers:

  • Please transmit this information to your team members who do not have access to the internal network.
  • Please ensure that your team members’ personal information is updated in the Phoenix Pay System. This is of particular importance so that inactive members receive their pay stubs and tax slips in paper format by mail.

If you require assistance related to your pay, please contact the Client Contact Centre.

Thank you,

Réa McKay

Vice President, Human Resources and Employee Wellness
