It's Security Awareness Week (SAW

Security Awareness Week is an annual event that takes place the second week of February. This year’s theme is Do Your Part – Be Security Smart.

During the week of February 6-10, explore how to become security smart and familiarize yourself with the tools and resources your Departmental Security office can offer and learn more about security best practices by browsing the ParksNet page.

Here are five key security responsibilities you need to know to do your part :

  • You are responsible for ensuring that sensitive information under your care is properly identified, transported, stored and disposed.
  • Parks Canada assets must be kept secure from unauthorized access, theft or vandalism.
  • You must make an acceptable use of electronic networks and devices.
  • You are responsible for reporting any security incident to your supervisor, manager or the Departmental Security Office.
  • You are responsible for reporting any information related to a change in personal circumstances that may affect your security status or clearance.

We invite you to consult the Security Awareness Week ParksNet page which contains a quiz and more security-related information.

Thank you
