Bell Let’s Talk Day 2023

Sent on January 25, 2023

Dear colleagues,

Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day! We are once again joining the conversation and committing to pursue our efforts to create positive changes in our workplace and in our personal lives.

Since 2017, Parks Canada has revamped its approach to mental health and wellness through coordinated efforts to engage team members at all levels. We want mental health and wellness to continue to be an integral part of the Parks Canada workplace, our day-to-day interactions, and our people management practices. We have seen a greater comfort and openness to talking about mental health, which is encouraging progress.

To help reduce the stigma around mental health issues, I personally make an effort to connect with friends, family, and colleagues about mental health through regular chats and check-ins. This simple act is something we can all do to care for those in our circles.

This year’s Bell Let’s Talk Day highlights ways we can all create meaningful change and take action by doing one or more of the following:

  • Choose a mental health organization to learn about or support
  • Help a friend struggling with their mental health by learning how to support them
  • Ask about how your workplace or community is creating change for mental health
  • Nurture your own well-being by practicing self-care and learning mental health strategies
  • Get involved in a mental health initiative or organize an event to support mental health
  • Engage in conversations about mental health to fight stigma and share your actions using #BellLetsTalk

Please visit the Bell Let’s Talk page on ParksNet for more activities. You can also find resources and learn more about Parks Canada services throughout the mental health resource hub.

Thank you and stay well.
