2026-06-11 questionnaire auto-identification du personnel

Hello everyone,

As we begin to settle into another full summer season, I want to warmly welcome both new and returning employees. Whether this is your first season with us or one of many, we are so glad you are here! Across all roles and teams, you play an important part in protecting and presenting our parks and other special places, and helping connect people to the lands, waters, and ice on which we work.

As our teams expand for the season, we remain committed to building a workplace where everyone feels respected, included, and supported. One of the ways we do this is by inviting employees to voluntarily self-identify. Many of you may already be familiar with self-identification (self-ID) and may have completed the questionnaire in the past. We wanted to take a moment to share a friendly reminder of the basics; what it is, why it matters, and where you can learn more as well as complete the form.

What is self-identification and why does it matter?

Self-identification is the confidential process of voluntarily sharing information about your personal identity. This information helps create a more complete picture of the diversity within our workforce.

By choosing to self-identify you are helping us better understand the diversity of our workforce and identify gaps in representation, equity, and inclusion. This information is used in an aggregated and non-identifiable way to inform policies, programs, and initiatives that support employees. Providing this information is important because it helps create a more inclusive and equitable workplace for everyone.

Do all employees have to complete the self-ID questionnaire?

Section A of the questionnaire is mandatory for all employees. This portion of the form requires your PRI number (found on your letter of offer or pay stub), your name, work location and self-ID decision. Sections B and C are all about self-identifying and are completely voluntary.

Where can I learn more and access the form?

To learn more about self-identification, or to complete or update your information, we encourage you to explore parks.canada.ca/self-identification. This page includes helpful information, answers to common questions, and a link to access the questionnaire. You can visit it anytime, from any device.

Managers and supervisors: To help build workplace awareness of self-ID, you are encouraged to post the official self‑ID posters in high‑visibility employee areas such as lunchrooms, employee kiosks, etc. The QR code allows employees to easily access the information and complete the questionnaire on the spot.

If you have any questions or would like support with accessing the questionnaire, please reach out to Parks Canada’s Employment Equity team at: ee.questionnaires@pc.gc.ca.

I wish you all a safe, successful, and rewarding summer season.

With gratitude,

Rawan El-Komos

Vice-President, Human Resources and Employee Wellness
