Discover GCtranslate – A new artificial intelligence-enabled tool designed for you

We are pleased to announce the official rollout of GCtranslate at Parks Canada.

Developed by Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Translation Bureau as part of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy for the Federal Public Service 2025–2027, GCtranslate is designed to meaningfully support your day-to-day work in both official languages. Its use will help enhance efficiency, ensure consistent terminology, and strengthen collaboration across Parks Canada, regardless of function or location.

Why use GCtranslate

GCtranslate provides instant translation between English and French.

This AI-powered tool:

• is trained exclusively on Translation Bureau content;
• uses Government of Canada terminology;
• can process documents up to and including the Protected B level.

However, it is important to note that, like any artificial intelligence tool, GCtranslate may generate errors or inaccuracies. It does not replace professional judgment or the expertise of trained translators. Careful review remains essential to ensure accuracy and quality of translated content. Employees remain responsible for complying with the Official Languages Act. For high-visibility content, or where errors could impact safety, public services, Parks Canada’s reputation, or result in complaints or legal risks, it is strongly recommended to consult the Translation Bureau. GCtranslate allows you to request advice or revision services from a translator, typically with a one-business-day turnaround.

Access GCtranslate

• You can now access GCtranslate via its GCXchange home page. To do so, you must be logged in to the Parks Canada network and use your network username and password. We encourage you to bookmark the page to stay informed of updates and enhancements.
• Upon first login, you will be asked to select Parks Canada. This step will only need to be repeated if you clear your browser cache.
• If Parks Canada does not appear in the drop-down list, or if you encounter technical issues, please contact the IT service desk - Jira.
• Workshops offered by the Translation Bureau are also available to help you make the most of this tool.

By using GCtranslate thoughtfully and responsibly, we strengthen our collective ability to work efficiently while upholding our official languages obligations.
