Lock 7 - Glen Ross
Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
Lock 7 is located in a rural area. Although distant from services, this lock provides the opportunity for a quiet respite complete with an expansive picnic area. This lock is well known for the beautiful terraced flower beds and also as a popular fishing spot.

History
Constructed: 1908-1914
Originally called Chisholm’s Rapids, the construction of this lock was the smallest contract in the Ontario - Rice Lake division. The Canadian General Development Company replaced the old 1841 masonry lock with a larger concrete lock and the old wooden dam was replaced with a new concrete dam upstream. An extensive concrete-lined navigation channel above the lock parallels the Trent River.
