Info-Work: Temporary Closure of Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge

Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

Peterborough, Ontario, May 7, 2019 – Parks Canada advises that the Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. for mechanical and structural inspection. These inspections are being completed to inform the designs for future repairs at this site.

The Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge was originally constructed in 1921. Through investments in infrastructure, Parks Canada is protecting and preserving treasured landscapes and structures like the Bobcaygeon Swing Bridge, while supporting local economies, contributing to growth in the tourism sector, and enhancing the charm and attractiveness of Canada’s heritage sites.
