  • Launch of La route bleue: Try Learn-to Paddle activity for Free!

    Parks Canada welcomes you near Bridge 10 at the Chambly Canal National Historic Site for a free Learn-To Paddle activity. This event is part of the official launch of La route bleue at the Chambly Canal (French only), a new water trail for outdoor enthusiasts in the Montérégie region.

    Guided by certified instructors, you will learn the basic techniques for safely handling a stand-up paddleboard. Come enjoy the calm waters of the canal, feel the gentle flow beneath your board in a picturesque setting and discover this fun and unique water sport.

    We will be expecting you starting at 10 a.m. on June 29, 2025!

    Multiple time slots available: 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m..

    IMPORTANT

    Arrive 15 minutes before the activity begins to register.

    - This is a bilingual activity (French & English). For safety reasons, each participant must have a good knowledge of one or other of these languages.
    - Wear weather-appropriate clothing.
    - You must bring your own water bottle, hat, sunscreen and snacks.
    - Toilets are available nearby.
    - Attention cyclists: bike racks are available for participants; bring your own lock.
    - The activity is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
    - Animals are not allowed on the paddle board.

  • Learn-to Fish - FULL

    Fishing is a simple, accessible and fun family activity. This summer, Parks Canada's outdoor education team invites young people aged 6 to 17 to a free learn-to fish activity on the banks of the Chambly Canal National Historic Site.

    During this activity, participants will learn about the biology of fish, the basics of fishing, angler ethics and the regulations and safety of sport fishing in Quebec. At the end of this activity, each youngster will receive a fishing license valid until his or her 18th birthday. Reservations are required.
