Experience being a soldier at the Halifax Citadel and leave your mark on history! Enjoy this authentic unforgettable 3-hour long immersion into the life of a 19th century soldier on your own, with a friend, or as a family.
Description
Thousands of British soldiers served at the Halifax Citadel between 1749 and 1906 – now it is your turn! Experience what being part of the 78th Highlanders was like. Ready to enlist?
- Go to the tailor to be fitted for your uniform – kilt and all
- Once you look the part, march to the parade square to fall in line, practice drills, and learn how to fire your rifle or play your drum
- Afterward, return to the mess hall with your fellow soldiers for a light refreshment of tea or lemonade and a scone
- Get a reproduction English shilling from 1869 and reproduction enlistment papers
- Bring your camera! There will be plenty of photo-worthy moments throughout the day.
