Citadel by Candlelight Holiday Tour

Halifax Citadel National Historic Site

Explore the iconic Halifax Citadel by candlelight with a 78th Highlander as your guide. Learn about how the fort's soldiers celebrated the holidays.

Sit around a soldiers’ winter campfire, listen to stories of ghosts, and enjoy a hot drink.

Watch a show from a real antique “magic lantern” similar to those used in the schoolroom at the Halifax Citadel in the 1860s.

Meet the Victorian-era Father Christmas!
