Are you interested in camping but don’t know where to begin? The Parks Canada Learn-to Camp program equips you with the knowledge and skills to confidently plan your first camping adventure!

The Learn-to Camp team delivers workshops to guide you through the process of planning a successful camping trip.

From packing necessities to learning what to expect, this family-friendly program covers the following topics:

  • Wildlife awareness: Learn how to stay safe while respecting wildlife during your camping adventure
  • Campfire techniques: Master the skills needed to build and maintain a safe and enjoyable campfire
  • Equipment recommendations: Get expert advice on the best gear to bring for a comfortable and successful camping trip

Pop-ups

  

Join us throughout the summer at pop-up outreach booths located in community hubs across the Greater Toronto Area. You'll also find us at various trailheads throughout the park, offering a unique opportunity to connect with nature and gain valuable outdoor skills.

At our booths and trailheads, participants will:

  • Discover what camping and learning experiences Parks Canada places have to offer
  • Learn tips and advice on how to camp safely and comfortably in the great outdoors
  • Understand the role you can play in ensuring a safe experience for both you and the wildlife that call the park home
