Info-Work: Inspections of the Port Severn area dams to take place throughout November

Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

October 31, 2016 Peterborough, ON – Consultants will be conducting inspections at the Port Severn Area Dams, Fixed Bridge and Bayview Bridge throughout the month of November. This work is in preparation for the future rehabilitation of these assets.

From November 1st to 3rd, crews will be surveying the site to identify the surface features and the depth of the water around the assets.

Between November 14th and December 10th, investigative drilling will be completed intermittently. This will result in short traffic delays along Port Severn Road North. Timing for these traffic delays will be provided once the schedule is finalized.

These inspections are integral for determining the design of each project and the scope of the construction work. Parks Canada appreciates your patience while we undertake these important investments into the waterway infrastructure in Port Severn.

Through investments in infrastructure, Parks Canada is protecting and preserving our treasured places, while supporting local economies, contributing to growth in the tourism sector, and enhancing the charm and attractiveness of Canada’s heritage sites.
