The resort town of Waskesiu Lake serves as a handy base, offering visitors easy access to long, sandy beaches, swimming, boating (both motorized and non-motorized), camping and other activities, plus a wide range of dining and accommodation options. Popular hiking and canoe routes thread through a string of backcountry lakes and campsites, including the hallowed cabin of turn-of-the-century conservationist and author Grey Owl.
