Pine Lake Picnic

Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 1 p.m to 4 p.m.

The annual Pine Lake Picnic is scheduled to return this summer. Come together with us at the Pine Lake Day Use Area for lots of family fun and food!

This community family picnic has something for everyone - take part in one of the workshops hosted by community organizations or challenge your family and friends in the annual canoe races. There might even be a special guest appearance from Parka, the Parks Canada mascot who calls Wood Buffalo National Park her home.

Migratory Bird Workshop

Salt River Day Use Area

Have you ever wondered what bird sings that song you hear or what cool bird flew by? Join us for a celebration of spring migration and learn birding tips and tricks to help you identify different types of birds.

This workshop is beginner friendly. We’ll have a limited supply of binoculars for participants to use. Please bring your own if you have a pair.

1 pm - 2 pm Program delivery.
2 pm - 3 pm Observation activities and sharing birding observations.
