Glen Ross Swing Bridge on its pivot
September 21, 2018 - This past weekend, work on the Glen Ross Swing Bridge reached a significant milestone – the bridge was shifted back onto its pivot.

The contractor is currently aiming to re-open the bridge to vehicles in mid-October. This is contingent on the successful completion of the remaining hydraulic and mechanical machinery, as well as concrete and asphalt work. Additionally, once the bridge is open to traffic there may be intermittent closures required to complete bridge commissioning. Parks Canada is currently working with the contractor to develop a contingency plan for vehicular waterway crossing in the case of further project delays.

Once completed, the bridge will have a full highway load rating, which will offer long-term benefits to the citizens of Quinte West. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
