Group Campground at Jim Charles Point
Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site
Jim Charles Point Group Campground is available for youth groups and family groups who would like to camp together.
Partial fire ban in effect
A partial fire ban is in effect throughout Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site (front and backcountry) until further notice.
⛔ No fires are permitted between 10 am and 7 pm. This also applies to charcoal BBQs (including the public ones at Merrymakedge Beach).
This fire ban includes ALL open fires, EXCEPT the following are allowed:
👍 portable gas-powered fire pits*
👍 gas-powered stoves and barbeques designed for cooking*
👍 gas-powered lanterns (enclosed flame)*
👍 fires in the woodstoves provided in the picnic shelters*
*provided they are under direct supervision and CSA-approved
Group camping reservations
From May 13, 2024 to July 17, 2024, call 902-682-2772 with your potential dates and group information.
Beginning July 18, 2024, group camping reservations must be made through the Parks Canada Reservation Service: Reserve online | 1-877-RESERVE (737-3783) | Outside of North America: 519-826-5391

Dates
Camping is available from Victoria Day weekend (mid-May) to the end of October. Camping is not permitted from November to April.

Facilities and services
Tent campsites
This is a tenting-only facility. The campground is divided into four sites with varying numbers of tent pads and fireboxes on each.
Equipment rentals
Equipment rentals are available online from Whynot Adventure, the Keji Outfitters. Reservations must be made online in advance. Pick up your rental at Jake’s Landing.
Picnic shelter
There is a picnic shelter, shared by all groups using the group campground.
Features include:
- picnic tables
- two wood-burning stoves (purchase firewood* at the Campground Kiosk)
- food storage lockers (bring your own lock)
- drinking water tap, outside the shelter (open year-round)
- a waste sorting station is located nearby
*It is prohibited to bring firewood into Kejimkujik from outside, to control the spread of invasive species. Campers must purchase firewood at the Campground Kiosk.
Washrooms and outhouses (pit privies)
Washrooms include flush toilets and hand washing basins.
There are several outhouses (pit privies).
Nearby
There is a large grassy common area and a group campfire circle.
Swim in the lake nearby at Kedge Beach or enjoy the playground.
Be prepared
You are responsible for your own safety. Be prepared for changing weather conditions, be aware of hazards, and have adequate information and equipment to ensure a safe visit.
