Celebrate with Graham Marshall and the park interpretation team during an afternoon of drumming, music, a flag raising, four cent cake, and conversation. Following the event, help prepare the Chéticamp Visitor Centre tipi for the season ahead.Sunday, June 21

Ingonish Beach Day Use Area
Join park interpreters for activities, games, and conversation celebrating the culture, language, and contributions of the L’nu of Mi’kma’ki.Everyone is welcome.
National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. For generations, many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities have celebrated their cultures, languages, and traditions at this time of year. The summer solstice holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration.

Cape Breton Highlands Trail Series 2026

Location(s): Cape Breton Highlands National ParkCost: $45 - $55Join the Cape Bretoners Road Runners for the 2nd Highland Trail Series in Cape Breton Highlands National Park on June 20–21. This two-day trail running event features a 9 km run on the Clyburn Valley Trail on Saturday afternoon and a challenging 9 km loop on the Franey Trail on Sunday morning, with 350 m of elevation gain and spectacular views.
Registration is $45 for one race or $54 for both.
Campsites are available at Ingonish Campground (additional fee).
