Reservation launch dates
Parks Canada will be launching reservations for the 2025 visitor season starting in January.
Operating Season: June 7 to September 30, 2024.
Camp your way to a beach vacation at this idyllic campground in the north of Gros Morne. Shallow Bay offers a fun camping experience for the whole family. Surrounded by evergreen forest opening up to white sandy beach on the Gulf of St. Lawrence, making it ideal for spending the day on the water kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding or exploring the coast. The Old Mail Road leaves right from the campground, a great place for kids to ride their bikes, or to take a walk to the beach. Finish your day with stories and s’mores around the campfire.
The campground is situated just 1 km north of the town of Cow Head, putting local museums and trails, a grocery store and Gros Morne Theatre Festival right on your doorstep. This is a place to stay and hangout for a couple of days enjoying the beach, nearby activities, and a base for longer excursions north to visit the national historic sites.
