Waterton Lakes National Park

Stay on the beaten path and explore the Waterton Townsite, there's lots to see and do!

  • Visit Waterton’s shops, cafes and restaurants
  • Cycle or walk the Townsite Loop Trail (bicycles can be rented in town)
  • Visit the redesigned Peace Park Plaza near the marina. The plaza celebrates the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park World Heritage Site
  • Visit Cameron Falls and climb up the trail to the overlook
  • Play ball, soccer or Frisbee at the playing field
  • Take in an evening theatre program at Falls Theatre or the visitor centre
  • Enjoy interpretive programming and hands-on activities at the green space on Waterton Avenue
  • Go for a swim, boat or paddleboard at Emerald Bay (rentals are available in town)
  • Visit one of our sets of Red Chairs
  • View the night sky from Cameron Bay
  • Play some basketball, pickleball or tennis at the multi-use courts
  • Visit the Paahtómahksikimi Cultural Centre and discover the Indigenous presence in Waterton. The area is traditional territory and a place of significance for the Siksikaitsitapi (Blackfoot) and other Indigenous peoples

The community of Waterton offers a variety of services, accommodations, dining opportunities, shops and attractions.

From late fall to early spring, most facilities are closed and few services are available. Please contact the Waterton Lakes Chamber of Commerce for more information.
