Info-Work: Talbot dam maintenance

Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site

August 11, 2022 – Peterborough, ON – Parks Canada advises the public to expect single lane closures and short-duration road closures on County Road 50 in the vicinity of the Talbot Dam between August 15 to 25, 2022.

Located south of the intersection of County Road 50 and Canal Road, near Gamebridge in the Township of Brock, the Talbot Dam will have a crane on site to enable the replacement of decking panels. The contractor is scheduled to temporarily remove railings, rails and winches from the dam to facilitate this maintenance work.

Parks Canada is leading this important infrastructure work to ensure safe, high-quality experiences for visitors by improving heritage, visitor, waterway, and highway assets located within national historic sites, national parks, and national marine conservation areas, including along the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site.

We appreciate your patience while we undertake these important infrastructure investments.
