Fees

Entry and service fees are charged at most national parks and national historic sites, where revenues are kept to support visitor services and facilities. This means that every time you visit a park or site you are investing in its future — and in a legacy for future generations.

The following definitions apply to entry and service fee categories unless otherwise specified

Adult - Person 18 to 64 years of age
Senior - Person 65 years of age or over
Youth - Person 3 to 17 years of age
Child - Person under 3 years of age
Family - four people from the same family. Maximum 2 people 18 years and older.

2023 Hot Springs fee adjustments

Effective January 3, 2023, Parks Canada will adjust entry fees at Radium, Miette and Banff Upper Hot Springs to better recover operating, repair and maintenance costs.

  • Entry fees to the hot springs were frozen from 2004 to 2020 and have not increased substantially in 18 years. Since 2004, entry prices to soak in the Canadian Rockies Hot Springs have fallen significantly below those of privately operated hot springs.
  • This fee adjustment brings prices for soaking in Canada’s historic hot springs back in line with market rates and is comparable to the cost of a movie ticket.
  • Parks Canada’s fees never exceed the cost of delivering services and are used directly to provide visitors with high quality experiences.
  • Revenue from the fees collected at the Canadian Rockies Hot Springs facilities is used to cover the operating, maintenance and capital repair costs required to ensure the long-term operation of the hot springs for current and future generations to enjoy.
  • Public consultations on fees for value-added services and facilities, including the Canadian Rockies Hot Springs, occurred in 2019. The feedback received from these consultations informed the upcoming fee adjustments.
  • The Canadian Rockies Hot Springs is introducing new multi-entry pass options for repeat visitors. These passes are available at a range of price points depending on the number of visits planned. New product information will be available on our website by the new year.
