La Mauricie National Park is open every day, even on holidays.

Summer opening hours
May 15 to June 18 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
June 19 to September 3 7:30 am to 10:00 pm
September 4 to October 26 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
Off-season

During the off-season, the facilities of the park will be closed and there will be no services. In-between seasons are usually from late March to mid-May, and from late October to mid-December.

Visitors venturing onto the trails are responsible for their own safety and must be self-sufficient in case of an emergency situation.

Please note that emergency services may be unavailable or significantly delayed during this period.

Gradual opening of the 2025 summer season
  • From May 15: Park opens at the Saint-Jean-des-Piles and Saint-Gérard entrances. Visitors can access the trails at the Rivière à la Pêche Service Center area.
  • May 16: The Rivière à la Pêche Campground is open every day of the week as soon as the park opens. Rental cabins and oTENTik in the area are also available for booking.
  • May 23: Full opening of the Parkway and Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc entrance. All the buildings in the park are also open to visitors.
  • May 30: Opening of La Mauricie National Park campgrounds
    • Mistagance Campground and oTENTik open 7 days a week.
    • Wapizagonke Campground opens on weekends only, with electricity but no drinking water. Make sure you have a supply of drinking water during your stay.
    • Backcountry camping open 7 days a week
  • June 20: Full opening of Wapizagonke Campground (with drinking water and electricity)
  • June 27: Opening of La Clairière group campground
Gradual closure of the 2025 summer season
  • Starting September 1: Weekday closure of Wapizagonke campground in La Mauricie National Park. The site remains open on weekends (with electricity, but no drinking water).
  • October 13: Closure of several park infrastructures
    • Closure of Mistagance and Wapizagonke campgrounds. Rivière à la Pêche campground remains open, but without drinking water.
    • The oTENTik at Mistagance campground closed.
    • Closure of backcountry camping (canoe-camping)
    • Closing of La Clairière group campground
    • Parkway closure from Saint-Mathieu entrance to Lac Bouchard
  • October 26: Closure of all visitor services
    • Closure of the Parkway from Saint-Mathieu entrance to Rivière à la Pêche Service Centre
    • Closure of the oTENTiks and Rivière à la Pêche Campground
    • Closure of rental cabins
Saint-Jean-des-Piles Visitor Reception and Interpretation Centre / Saint-Mathieu du Parc Reception Centre
CLOSED

Both visitor centers will be exceptionally closed to the public for the entire 2025 season.

Visitors are invited to obtain information at the gateways, at the information desk in the Rivière à la Pêche Service Centre or from mobile teams on site. The visitor guide and website are also excellent tools for finding out about park activities.
