Sam and his forest is a family activity designed especially for children aged 6 to 12.

Sam, a curious young owl, loves introducing children to the inhabitants of his forest. He enjoys following the tracks he finds on the ground or letting the sounds he hears through the branches guide him.

Families will find this friendly owl on the Le Pic-bois trail.

Location: Meet at the La Chute parking lot to join the Le Pic-bois trail.

Length: 3.6 km round trip

Sam and the beaver is a fun activity for families visiting the beaver ponds sector in the park's North Area, using a mobile app.

At various stations along the Le Castor trail, Sam the owl introduces you to the hidden life of beavers through fun games. This activity is for all ages, but is specially designed for children aged 6 to 12.

Location: Meet at the Le Castor parking lot.

Length: 2 km round trip.

A Parcours Énergie is an outdoor exercise circuit that uses public infrastructure such as benches and ramps. Signs and downloadable audio clips guide participants through the various training stations. A smartphone may be required.

The Penouille's Parcours énergie stretches for almost 2 km along the magnificent Penouille sand spit. Each of the seven stations offers exercises at two levels of difficulty for people of all ages. A great way to get moving in nature!

iNaturalist is like having a huge guide for identifying plant and animal species in your pocket, but in mobile format! All you have to do is download the free application on your smartphone.

Also, take part in the iNaturalist – Forillon National Park project by uploading your observations to the platform. By contributing to improving biodiversity knowledge, you will ensure that you keep a memory of your visit while providing valuable information that will be useful to future visitors and will last for many years.

At Forillon, your observations can contribute to:

• long-term scientific monitoring of common species;
• long-term scientific monitoring of species at risk;
• documenting the park’s biodiversity;
• and even to the conduct of environmental impact assessments.

iNaturalist is an excellent platform to assist in the proactive management of Forillon National Park.

Produced in collaboration with Tourisme Gaspésie, the interactive trail The Forgotten Chronicles of the Mountains invites young and old alike to unravel the mysteries hidden beneath the peaks of the Gaspé Peninsula through stories, puzzles and games. The activity is available free of charge on the "Mon Parcours" mobile app. The activity starts in the Grande-Grave harbour. Activity offered in English or French.
