  • Kayak Clear Lake

    Breathe in the cool lake breeze as you propel yourself toward new horizons. You'll kayak along the shore of Clear Lake with a guide, exploring landmarks and legends along the way. *All levels welcome, weather dependent.*

    * Prepare for weather; however guides may cancel in case of weather. Your clothing is likely going to become wet (ie. Rain gear, layered clothing, synthetic materials recommended) *Bring a bottle of water, sunblock, and insect repellant, hat, snacks *Wear appropriate footwear (water shoes, neoprene socks, etc. your feet are guaranteed to get wet) *Participants are required to wear a PFD provided by Parks Canada *Participants will practice rudimentary kayak skills and are expected to be physically able to move the kayak to the water and back to the trailer in pairs. Participants are expected to clean out the kayak post-program, and leave in good condition for the following group *Must be 12+ years to participate

    Connect with the Anishinabe of Riding Mountain National Park. We'll talk about our sometimes difficult past and the history of the park. In a time of reconciliation, come together at a maw-MOH-pe-WIN (meeting or gathering) with Anishinabe Interpreter Desmond Mentuck.

    As evening nears at Lake Audy, uncover how the bison provided clothing, tools and a way of life to the area's Anishinabe peoples. You'll get to learn about "meh-wen-ZHA" (a time from long ago) and discover how the Anishinabe co-existed with these giants of Turtle Island. After, tour Riding Mountain National Park's bison range while the sun sets. *Participants require their own transportation to and from Bison Range *Prepare for weather, guides will go out in most conditions (ie. Rain gear, layered clothing) *Bring a bottle of water, sunblock, and insect repellant *Wear appropriate footwear (closed-toe is highly advised)

Join a guide as you travel into forests, valleys and up onto the ridges of the majestic Manitoba escarpment. *Prepare for weather, guides will go out in most conditions (ie. Rain gear, layered clothing) *Bring a bottle of water, snacks, sunblock, and insect repellant. Lunch stop at half-way mark. *Wear appropriate footwear closed-toe is highly advised *Long pants are recommended to protect from insects and poison ivy *Participants must use own transportation
