Geocaching
Fort Walsh National Historic Site
What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunting game, that uses GPS units (Global Positioning System) to find hidden containers called caches. Explore Fort Walsh in a whole new way as you follow coordinates to discover hidden caches, historic landmarks, and scenic views throughout the site.
There are 7 geocaches hidden around the site.
Advanced geocaches
Our advanced caches are designed for those who enjoy a challenge. These are designed to blend in with their surrounds and are disguised as everyday objects. Finding these cache boxes takes careful observation and attention to detail. They are available from May until November and are accessible when the Fort is closed.
