Fort Walsh National Historic Site

In the heart of the Cypress Hills, Fort Walsh and Cypress Hills Massacre National Historic Sites are located along the picturesque Battle Creek valley. Heritage interpreters at the Fort and Métis Cabins tell stories of the 1870s and 1880s and lead visits through historic buildings. At the nearby First Nations’ Camp, Indigenous interpreters offer demonstrations and share culture, history and traditional knowledge.

The natural beauty of the site is a treasure unto itself. Maintaining physical distancing is easy as you explore forest, creek and grassland on the site’s trail system, and view some of the highest peaks in Saskatchewan. Please call ahead for the most up-to-date information on the sites’ services.
