Other Attractions in the Region

The Fur Trade at Lachine National Historic Site is located along the entrance to the Lachine Canal, not far from Lake Saint-Louis, in the west of the Island of Montréal. It belongs to the Pôle des Rapides tourism area which includes the Museum of the city of Lachine, the Fleming Mill, Maison Saint-Gabriel, etc. For tourism information contact the Pôle des Rapides organization: 514-364-4490.

Furthermore, The Fur Trade at Lachine National Historic Site is located within the boundaries of the Lachine Canal, another historic site recently renovated. A 14-km bicycle path lines the Lachine Canal between the Old Port of Montréal and Lachine. At Lachine Lock, the Visitors Services Centre offers a photographic exhibition on the canal, an outsideinterpretive display, a snack bar and a gift shop. Nearby, René-Lévesque Park features an open-air sculptural garden.

You can also visit the village of Kanawake, on the other side of the river. Not to mention the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Côte-Sainte-Catherine Lock.
