With Parks Canada guides or an audio tour, learn about the significance of the diplomatic relations that took place here, particularly with the Huron-Wendat Nation. A most rewarding visit awaits you.
You can rent an audio tour on site or use your cell phone by downloading the Parks Canada guided tours application. The audio tour is available in French and English.

Visit of Grosse Île and the Irish Memorial
Following a cruise on the St. Lawrence River, discover the history of Grosse Île and the Irish tragedy of 1847 by visiting the Irish cemetery and the Celtic cross.
By trolley or on foot, explore the village of Saint-Luc-de-Grosse-Île. You can admire the Catholic chapel, the horse-drawn ambulance and the Lazaretto dating from 1847.
A visit to Grosse Île would not be complete without a medical inspection and a visit to the disinfection building. Here you will find the showers and the ovens that were used to disinfect the immigrants’ clothing.

A new multi-sensory exhibition is being offered in the First-Class Hotel. View two immigrant rooms and learn more about their stay in quarantine.
The immigrant summer kitchen has been restored to give you the unique experience of the village of Saint-Luc-de-Grosse-Île.
