Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
February 14, 2020 –The Hamlet swing bridge is now open to vehicular traffic. Parks Canada would like to thank the public for their patience and support throughout the project to replace the Hamlet Fixed and Swing Bridges. This work contributes to the long term sustainability of the Trent-Severn Waterway’s public assets and will ensure the safety of Hamlet Bridge users today and in the future.
What to expect
- Intermittent closures are still scheduled in the spring for testing.
- Finishing touches and site restoration will be completed over the next few months.
- Occasional construction traffic and noise may be experienced as restoration activities continue.
