Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site

The Lower Fort Garry grounds are open for visitors to enjoy. The Visitor Centre, washrooms and all historic buildings are closed. Lower Fort Garry will open for the 2023 season on May 23.

Through hands-on interpretive experiences, immerse yourself in the lives and legends of the Hudson’s Bay Company fur trappers, hear stories of the First Nations people, and experience how Hudson’s Bay Company employees lived.

A Walk Through History

Take a stroll through the grounds, watch historical demonstrations and participate in interactive activities led by costumed interpreters.

Gabeshiwin – the camp
