What
Pursuant to subsection 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activity is prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
Consuming alcohol, cannabis or cannabis products beyond the perimeter of your registered campsite.
Where
The following campgrounds are affected by this Notice: Whistlers, Wapiti, Snaring, Miette, Wabasso, Kerkeslin, Honeymoon Lake, Jonas, Icefields tent, Icefield Center RV, Wilcox and Overflow.
This includes all areas within the campgrounds including all drive-in sites, walk-in sites, shelters, roads and trails within Jasper National Park of Canada.
Why
To protect the public from second-hand smoke and to promote a quality visitor experience.
Penalty
Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25,000.
