Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve

Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve is located in eastern province of Quebec, at approximately 1000 km from Montréal. It is an insular park reserve comprised of some 1000 islands and islets scattered between the mouth of the Saint-Jean River (near Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan), to the west, and the Aganus River (in Aguanish), to the east and only accessible by boat.

There are many options to get to the Reception and Interpretation centers in Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan or Havre-Saint-Pierre.

By car

Drive along Route 138 in the east direction until you reach the Reception and Interpretation Centers in Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan or Havre-Saint-Pierre. To get there, allow 10 hours from Quebec City (850 km) and 13 hours from Montreal (1075 km).


By bus

Intercar connects Montreal or Quebec with Sept-Îles every day of the week, from Sunday to Saturday. On weekdays, daily departures are offered by the same company between Sept-Îles and Havre-Saint-Pierre. It should be noted that an overnight stopover is necessary to get from the major cities to Havre-Saint-Pierre.

Regional carrier Air Liaison offers departures from Quebec to Havre-Saint-Pierre, with stops in Port-Menier et Sept-Îles.

Air Canada, Air Liaison and Provincial Airlines offer regular flights from Montreal or Quebec to Sept-Îles. This regional city is located 165 km from Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan and 210 km from Havre-Saint-Pierre.

By boat

Relais Nordik inc. offers weekly passenger and cargo service to the Lower North Shore from April to mid-January. The M/V Bella Desgagnés. This ship completes a 7-day circuit from Rimouski to Blanc-Sablon, with stopovers in Sept-Îles, Port-Menier, Havre-Saint-Pierre and villages of the Lower North Shore.
