Tree planting with 10,000 Trees

Rouge National Urban Park

Volunteer organization, 10,000 Trees, is co-hosting a fall tree planting event at Rouge National Urban Park on Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16, 2022. We invite you to join us for this opportunity to participate in restoration work at Rouge National Urban Park.

This event will take place in compliance with all public health guidelines.

 

Date:

  • October 15 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (site set-up)
  • October 16 - 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (planting)
  • October 16 - 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm (planting)

Location: Glen Rouge Campground, 7450 Kingston Road, Scarborough, ON – north side of Kingston Road, west of Altona Road

Reminders: Wear long pants, sturdy footwear and gloves. Shovels and buckets will be provided.

Parking: Parking is available on-site. Please drive to the campground (7450 Kingston Road) and take the first left after you enter the campground towards the roundabout and gatehouse. Event staff will then direct you to the designated parking area. Parking availability is limited. Please consider using public or active transit.  

Washroom: Portable toilets are available at the entrance at Kingston Road. You will need to walk approximately 200 metres to access the toilets.

Note: October 15 is a set-up event only. Trees and shrubs will only be planted on October 16.
