Advisory Committee of Local Citizens
Point Pelee National Park
The Point Pelee National Park Advisory Committee of Local Citizens represents the voice of the local community and assists Point Pelee National Park (PPNP) in its efforts to achieve the Parks Canada Mandate for National Parks.
Committee representatives are passionate community members and park visitors who provide feedback, share observations, and offer input on park management and operations.
The committee is currently seeking new members. If you’re interested in joining, please send your name and a brief explanation of why you would like to participate to ppnp.admin@pc.gc.ca.
Membership details
- The committee consists of up to 20 members from the local community (ideally living within a 60 km drive of PPNP)
- Members are appointed for a three-year term and may seek reappointment for additional terms (no term limit)
- Selection of members is made jointly by the Committee and the Park Management Team
- The committee meets at least twice a year at Point Pelee National Park
- Meetings include updates from park staff, discussions on upcoming initiatives, and opportunities for members to share community perspectives and feedback
