The Nahʔą Dehé Dene Band has lived and worked within the Nahanni landscape for thousands of years. Parks Canada works closely with the residents of Nahanni Butte to provide visitors with unparalleled insights into the Dene culture and history. In Nahanni Butte, located along the banks of the South Nahanni River one mile upstream from Liard River confluence, Dene guides lead interpretive walks through the community connecting visitors to the village history and traditional life.
