Most locations in Elk Island National Park remain closed
Due to the impact of the storm on July 25, 2026, Elk Island National Park is temporarily closed. Visitor safety is Parks Canada’s top priority. Flooding, downed and hazardous trees present a danger to visitors. We are taking steps to address the situation and to re-open the park to visitors as soon as possible. Blue-green algae advisory
Parks Canada is advising visitors that blue-green algae is currently present in the waters of Astotin Lake. Avoid contact with the water in the lake or near the shores of this lake at this time.
