A meeting with the Governor!

Port-Royal National Historic Site

Learn about what life was like for the French artisans who arrived and built the first French settlement, the Habitation, in 1605. Public and private guided tours with a costumed interpreter are available.

Transport yourself back in time to 1605 to get a unique glimpse of what life was like in the Habitation.

Imagine you are one of the new artisans who has just arrived. It is your first time crossing the Atlantic Ocean. You have been requested to report to the Governor and will be assigned your new duties at Port-Royal.

Your guided tour begins at the kiosk!
