Parade Square

Imagine your event under tent and sky, surrounded by the rich history and mighty walls of the Halifax Citadel.

Use the parade square alone, or add the Halifax Citadel’s fully appointed rooms to transform your dinner, reception, wedding, trade show or gala into a truly unique event. Events begin after the site has closed to the public.

We are happy to help facilitate tent rentals, which are not available directly from the Halifax Citadel. The parade square can accommodate tents up to 120’ x 80’.

Garrison Grounds – a natural amphitheatre

Warm breezes, sunshine and grass underfoot - the Halifax Citadel offers the perfect setting. Situated at the base of Citadel Hill, the Garrison Grounds offer a spacious, central location for festivals, concerts or other large outdoor events. This flexible, natural amphitheatre can accommodate audiences from a few hundred up to 30,000.
