One of the shortest Signal Hill trails. After visiting the summit, hikers return by the same route.

In the 1700s, Gibbet Hill was the site of a wooden scaffold ("Gibbet") where the bodies of executed criminals were hung on display. Later, Wallace's Battery was built on the hill to cover Signal Hill Road in case of enemy attack.
