Step into history. Load up on memories.
Enlist in our Defenders of the Narrows experience and travel back to 1862 for an unforgettable hands-on experience.
Your journey begins at the Queen’s Battery Barracks, where you suit up in a historic uniform of a Royal Newfoundland Company soldier or a Royal Artillery gunner. Discover what life was like for those who stood watch over the narrows more than a century ago.
Next, follow in their footsteps down to the Queen’s Battery gundeck. Take in the sweeping panoramic views of St. John's Harbour and prepare for your mission: firing three rounds from a historic musket, with each shot echoing through the narrows.
Whether you’re a history buff or simply looking to load up on memories, Defenders of the Narrows is an immersive experience you won’t forget!
